You have no money, no Wii, no job. How far would you go to get a Wii? Well this kid Yang, from Shangqiu, China in Henan province. He went pretty far... Not content with playing someone else's Wii, he kidnapped himself in an attempt to extort 10,000 yuan ($1,400) for his "Nintendo Computer". Needless to say I bet his parents were pretty pissed when he was caught by local police, along with two accomplices (Zhou and Pan), withdrawing the money from a cash point. Don't think my parents would have been too impressed if I faked my own abduction...

Not only did he kidnap himself he did it because his parents refused to buy him a "Nintendo Computer"! Which surely has to be our beloved Wii. I guess we can all feel a bit less guilty about pestering our parents for toys now 'ey.
